In an episode not to be missed, INXS: Access all Areas brings to you this “special edition, not to be missed” episode attacking the criminal omission of INXS off the latest 17 artist ballot that was released last weekend.
With such “non rock n roll” artists like Dionne Warwick, Dolly Parton and Lionel Richie making the ballot, this concept of recognizing the this institution is sadly becoming a modern day exercise in woke, identity politics and rock n roll irrelevance.
So, are we wrong? Are we too harsh? Are we on the money? Well we assemble a panel of music fans and some patrons of our group namely:
Dr Jim: Melbourne
Genevieve: Amsterdam
Manny: Yorkshire
Craig: Newcastle
Laurie: Chicago
to debate the list of nominees that include:
Duran Duran
Rage against the Machine
Judas Priest
Devo
Eminem
Beck
Pat Benatar
Carly Simon
Eurythmics &
Kate Bush
Do we get consensus? Wildly disagree? Argue yay or nay? Well you’ll need to check in to what might just be our most volatile, contentious and fiery podcast since we commenced in May 2021.
Warning: not for the faint hearted.

Enjoyed this podcast...I do agree with the fact that a definative in depth INXS documentary streaming across all US platforms: Netflix, AppleTV, Hulu, etc is necessary.
I do think it's very important to keep reminding the Rock Hall of INXS' influence and impact on American music & its musicians (alongside their global impact on rock music). In fact, let's place on greater focus on their American music impact.
This is a great article. The author goes through each year and examines who should not have made the cut. https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2022/01/the-great-rock-hall-purge-which-hall-of-fame-inductees-dont-belong.html?outputType=amp
Should be good ... I've said it before to H&B how much I admire their determination and top-notch work (and Dr. Jim) to get INXS to the RRHOF (I'm loving every minute of it!) and I think, at least secretly, it would mean a lot to the Band as an accomplishment ... and rightly so.
However, it is evident that either the powers that be at the RRHOF are easily swayed by politics or, assuming they really do have the power, are simply, let's say, "technically unprepared" to appreaciate such an artistic/innovative/rare body of work that has been staring them in the face ... and for so many years! Now, I know it isn't easy to be a judge, but…
I. Can’t. Wait. The RRHOF definitely “jumped the shark” with this years nominations. Devo? A one hit wonder? What’s next, a Nickelback nomination?
