Name: Georgi Connell Born: Radelaide Lives: Old Sydney Town INXS fan since: 1983 - I was 11 yo and had just listened to the Shabooh Shoobah album and fell in love. The album was released in 1982 just before my 10th birthday but I don’t remember it then. I remember first hearing it in 1983 as a friend of mine (older kid in my neighbourhood) received album as present. First INXS concert: First concert not paid for because I jumped the fence to the Adelaide Memorial Drive Park and an into the crowd before security could catch me was 1988. I just want INXS band members and fans to know I didn’t buy a ticket because my parents wouldn't allow me. I was raised very strict Baptist family and church community where my Grandfather was the Baptist Minister. Think “Footloose” (1984 Film) and you understand. I caught the bus into the city with my friend Janine. We ran fast down King William Street and jumped the fence. It was very naughty and exhilarating. To this day my parents don’t know! Probably too late to ask for forgiveness :). my first concert when I actually paid for my ticket was in 1991. I was 18 turning 19 that year and my parents couldn’t stop me1 I was a good Christian girl, now I’m just a girl. Last INXS concert: Switch album tour Sydney 2007- I just couldn't attend anymore after that, sorry guys. It’s me, not you. It’s a great album. Fave single: Not Enough Time-- there's something truly special about that song. It’s really not played enough times!!! Fave album: Wow, that’s a hard one! Purely for the magic eclectic feel of it I would say Welcome to Wherever You Are. It felt like a lot of blood sweat and tears went into that one. Fave INXS video: Too many great videos that captured my attention and I would copy Michael moves. His dance moves sometimes makes me laugh, to this day. I got the moves like Mike, especially after a few... Fave band member: all members are my favv... but Jon Farriss first caught my attention. He’s simply gorgeous. Fave concert: Love watching Live Baby Live at Wembley in 1991 on TV/DVD - so wish I had been there! I could almost convince my parents that INXS were a Christian band with wearing the Jesus t-shirt. Fave pod episodes: You’re still yet to record it, haha. Fave INXS lyric: Wow, another difficult one! Don’t ask me, what you know is true, Don’t have to tell you, all their lyrics are great. |
