New Brian Eno Documentary Coming Soon |
|
|
In Episode 104: Full Moon Dirty Hearts, Side 1, we heard from Mark Opitz about Brian Eno’s work mixing the track “I’m Only Looking”. Now comes word that filmmaker Gary Hustwit has begun work on a new documentary about the legendary musician & producer. NME reports that Hustwit has sorted through “hundreds of hours of previously unseen footage and unreleased music from Eno’s archive”—400 hours of material that span Eno’s 50-year career. Eno began as a founding member and synth player for the legendary band Roxy Music in 1971. Over the decades, he has worked with such luminaries as David Bowie, David Byrne, and John Cale. He has recorded and produced albums for U2, Coldplay, Grace Jones, Slowdive, James, Damon Albarn, and many others. Documentarian Gary Hustwit is perhaps best known for his 2007 film Helvetica. IMDb shows the current status of his film Eno as “filming”. Photo credit: Wikimedia Commons |
